It’s Day 30 of #mascotmarch2022, and today’s Icon is Bartholomew Richard Fitzgerald-Smythe, aka #MrPeanut of #plantersnuts! The original mascot was designed by schoolboy Antonio Gentile back in 1919, and has been eponymous with the brand ever since. In 2006, Planters had a contest to determine whether to add a bowtie, cufflinks, or a pocket watch to the character. It was decided to leave him as is, though I’ve given him the bowtie and cuff links in this version.
