Hello Incredibles Fans, I have a proposition for you regarding a alternate Incredibles 2.
Hear me out . . . what if instead of those new heroes that no one knows the names of, we got to see some familiar faces from the past? What if instead of these guys, we saw Plasmabolt, Blazestone, and Gamma Jack?
Think about it, Plasmabolt has a high chance of canonically still being alive because we never actually saw her photo appear in Project Kronos. Sure she could have been listed offscreen, but given how strict she was about keeping her hero and civilian lives separate, I don't think Syndrome would have been able to find her. Or maybe he did and she said no to him because she had no reason to go back into hero work; resulting in Syndrome having to leave her be.
As for the other two, they were confirmed terminated, but I feel like if Bob could fake his demise, then some of the other heroes could have faked theirs as well. Blazestone was stated to have dimensional traveling powers, so maybe she saw the danger of fighting the Omnidrod and used that power to get away off camera. As for Gamma Jack, this one is mostly because I think he would be cool to see in the present day considering how he acted in the past and his relationship to Bob, Helen, Gazerbeam, and Frozone. Imagine if Gamma Jack was still alive and survived on the island, heavily injured and erratic but messing around with Syndrome's operations to ensure no one else suffers the same fate the others had.
Imagine how the characters would react to their survival. What if the deleted memorial scene for all the heroes was still in the Incredibles 2 movie. Bob and Helen give their speeches about how hurt they are about losing their friends, how they were able to survive the island because they had their family, and how they plan to honor their friends' memories. Plasmabolt then steps on stage to give her tearful speech, about how she feels guilty for cutting every hero off so quickly and leaving them to suffer while she lived her life unaware; Plasmabolt then says that she promises to be there for her friends in both of her lives if they ever decide to give her a call. Then to everyone's shock, Blazestone-who everyone initially thought was terminated-gets up to deliver a speech about her time on the island; about how she came so close to meeting the same fate but escaped, about how she had hid away in fear over Syndrome finding her and finishing the job, about her anger and guilt over not stopping the operation despite knowing about it, and about how she's going to never leave anyone behind again if she can help it.
Then after the speeches are given and Bob and Helen are reuniting with other glory days heroes and the families of the fallen supers. Bob and Helen notice Plasmabolt and Blazestone talking amongst themselves. They go up to them to reunite with both of them, offer their condolences, and tell Blazestone how happy they are to see her alive. Blazestone thanks them and decides to tell them what she was just telling Plasmabolt-she wasn't the only survivor. Blazestone says that Gamma Jack was found on the island during the government search, alive but heavily injured after years of battle, erratic, terrified, and violent to the soldiers, and having hallucinations of the other fallen heroes. Blazestone says that Gamma Jack is currently in a government hospital in solitary confinement because of his radiation powers and unstable nature. Blazestone tells the Parrs and Plasmabolt to visit him any time before leaving to go to the hospital and visit Gamma Jack.
I haven't thought of what else they could do, but this does sound interesting. I'm also considering keeping Voyd in but increasing her role in the story. Her introduction could be during the funeral, where a young woman, only a few years older than Violet (maybe 19 to 23), is seen hanging around Downburst's memorial. The young woman then shyly walks over to Helen and introduces herself as Karen Fields, the daughter of Downburst. Karen says that she was inspired to become a hero as a little because of her father and Elastigirl, saying that she even came up with her own name, Voyd, and just needs a costume to match her portal powers. She thanks Helen for helping find her father and says that she hopes to become a great hero like Elastigirl and her father, to which Helen says that she's already made her father proud.
