Im so disappointed in this idk if i want to finish

This stage was fine:

Then i realized HE LOOKS LIKE MUD. HES DARK GREY/BROWN/BLACK MUD COLORS

But like NEEDS HIGHLIGHTS AND LOW LIGHTS and yes i made this shitty vector to put into the pattern maker!!

Do i have at least FIVE distinct mud tones? In yarn???? NO!!! I don’t!! Even with all my grandmas leftover yarn, thats like NOT REALLY EASY!!! So of course this was already post-making-the-outline! Should i scrap it and reuse the canvas???

Then I go, wait maybe it has a good shiny??? Like the fuschia Quagsire??? I could make that

Ok so its like… blue??? Right? I have blues. Dark blues. But not one to match the bottom side. And then, like, when i google it everyone makes it look purple???

(Ppl buy these??)

So like, ive make so many haunters, gengars, And drifloons that i have plenty of purple. Kinda. But like… who is gonna want this? Im gearing up for my first sales event, in person?!? Who would want this huge boy?!?!? Hes THE WRONG COLOR

Anyway idk if i should scrap it and reuse the canvas or not

At this rate these two failures will be friends on my wall forever :( lol

Today I’m taking a break from making christmas ornaments to make a couple fish that the organizer of our bi-weekly crafting meetup requested! This pattern comes from a 1990 edition of Plastic Canvas! Magazine that belonged to my late paternal grandmother.

You can try this yourself! I’m using 7 square not 10 square though, with normal worsted weight yarn. I tried to get clear photos!
