Plastic is gradually taking over the ocean. It makes up 80% of all marine debris found from surface waters to deep-sea sediments. If we don’t change our ways - people, companies, government -, this may be the most common type of fish found in the ocean in the next decades. Not a pretty 🐠, not a pretty sight, not a pretty forecast. Join our movement. Let’s go #plasticfishing! 🎣🗑️ (at Bal Harbour, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoaJv55uGFb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A 2020 research conducted by the University of Exeter shows that 67% of sharks analyzed off the UK coast contained micro plastics in their digestive system. Sharks play a critical role in maintaining a balance to marine ecosystems, but many shark species are at risk due to overfishing. Oceanic shark populations have been shrinking at an alarming rate, dropping by 71% since 1970. Eliminating single-use plastic from our routines is one of the most straightforward steps we can take to improve the health of our oceans and our communities. The ocean is for fish, not plastic.
