It’s so pleasant to have unfilled drawer space. Cleaning off odds and ends from the #plate11 white oak design bench… and, magically, I have some place to put the things away. Much like my currently unreachable #atc tills, these drawers will be organized by common use (up at top) and a bit by size (the drawers are smaller at the top) but nothing more. I don’t need or want an elaborate system overall or for every drawer. Oh yeah... that’s how hand planing works. I’m fixing a kitchen baseboard that needs to be a skosh shorter, providing clearance for the dishwasher door. I ran out time for it today. Wednesday, I wait all day like a child on their birthday…only to learn that conditions caused 12 truckers to throw in the towel and so it wasn’t showing. I shared a good laugh with the dispatcher. And while unexpected, my crate from @markbuildsit (#plate11) arrived the next day...on the coldest day in ages. I moved the crate into the garage and left it to warm. Warm would be just above freezing, but that’s a good deal warmer than the truck and loading dock. I unpacked it Friday, saw where they had speared the crate with a forklift tine (really? Is it so hard to freight stuff?) but do to Mark’s careful packing nothing was touched. I moved the individual units to the lower hallway, and let them rest.
