Hc that Sizhui has an aversion/dislike of love because he saw what happened to LWJ after WWX died and the way it negatively effected his father honestly scared him. Plus with what happened with LXC’s sworn brothers & LWJ’s parents (damn, the Lans have a bad romance rep) love has just brought pain & suffering to his family.
Of course, he meets LJY & falls in love (platonically or romantically) and there’s a period of time when LSZ kinda avoids his best friend because he’s worried that something bad is going to happen. LJY immediately notices and has to practically cuff LSZ to him whenever he wants to spend time with him. They talk it out, and LJY is underwhelmed. Promises that LJY isn’t going to suddenly die are made. Then Sizhui meets JL and OYZZ and more love is had and he makes them all promise to not suddenly die or leave. It’s odd, but they agree to it. Sure, they get pretty close a couple times, but it works.
Or, they could use a seal of some sort (I don’t know a lot about mdzs weapon lore) to make it so that if any of them are close to breaking their promise, the others are alerted. Kinda like a promise ring, but useful in life or death situations. It’s definitely helped them out a couple times, but it also gave JC a heart attack seeing JL wearing a ring on his finger.
