Play For The Cure

Hi everyone!

My name is Amanda Joseph and I'm a sophomore day student at Walker's. I'm a member of the varsity field hockey team, and today we hosted our annual Play For The Cure play day down at our turf fields. Over 10 teams came out to support breast cancer research. Members of the varsity team helped out announcing, refereeing, selling food, drinks and raffle tickets, and JV players played in multiple games representing Walker's. I helped out announcing game times and raffle tickets. This was an interesting experience for me because I get really nervous speaking in front of a lot of people, but I had a lot of fun. Today was an emotional experience for many of the people in attendance, as many of us have lost a loved one or know someone with cancer. It meant a lot to me to be part of this event and I can't wait until next year.
