Today's #playingcardbacks are from a special #deckofplayingcards used to advertise the pharmaceutical drug Dyrenium in 1964. They're called Diureticards and were created so users can quiz each other on facts about kidney function, diuretics, and Dyrenium while #playingcards 🤣 I would love to use the card backs in one of my modern art creations. I found today's #deckoftheday at an antique shop a few years ago... and have been dying to open it ever since then. I can't find any other #playingcards like them online. Originally I thought the decks were a promotional product for @pacificgasandelectric but now I'm wondering if it was created for a propane company I found while googling the slogan. The tax stamp indicates they were made between 1940 and 1965. I believe these #congressplayingcards were created between 1940 and 1960. The #cardbacks replicate Venetian Tarot card art from 1450 - the Queen of Swords and King of Clubs.
