Mindcrack
Are we back, chat?
This online Minecraft subgame slapped, and if you remember it, you are a true gentleman veteran motherfucker.
You know, I’ve been thinking about it and maybe I will start a discord for the Mindcrack rebirth. I have been watching a lot of Minecraft from a lot of of the new folks that have been invited to the server, and let’s be honest. I’m not going to keep up with this Tumblr blog. So maybe it would be easier you know chatting with a small group of folks who also is excited that mindcrack is back. There is an official server for it, but there’s so many people on there and that gets intimidating.
But to be honest, I’m just kinda on the fence about it because I don’t wanna have to moderate a discord server
10 years and one month ago, I had posted essentially what was my last post to this blog. Genuinely I didn’t think I was ever going to post to it again. I had left the mindcrack community. I had quit my moderator position at playMindCrack because I saw the writing on the wall. And I was honestly just kind of tired of keeping up with everything and everyone. The incorporation happened and it all felt very different after that.
And now, 10 years and one month later, here I am again posting on this Tumblr blog that has been archived for a decade. What an insane sentence.
I posted a link that video. The video of Guude in the cabin, taking about GenerikB and Rob. And I became intrigued again. I don’t know what it is, but how messy that video was, the vitriol in his voice, that intrigued me. So I just had to know more.
And then one day, I wasn’t even doing anything in particular, but there it was. A brand new Guude solo Mindcrack video. What the hell? And so of course I had to watch it. And it’s almost like I never left. A Guude story time video. I always enjoyed his storytime videos. He’s a natural storyteller.
I recently did a semi deep dive into what happened. A lot of it was politics. A lot of it was just in fighting. A lot of it was shady business practices. And after reading about all these things, suddenly I’m back here. Posting on a Tumblr blog that I quit 10 years ago.
And now the teaser website? I don’t believe it’s for a podcast. Minecraft already had a podcast. Hyping up a podcast would be insane. I genuinely might think that maybe just maybe Mindcrack Survival Multiplayer may be returning.
Is Mindcrack back? I mean, I’m sure you can make the argument that it’s always been here. It certainly is a shadow of its former self. I joined the discord and I saw that it had been going strong for quite some time.
I guess we can only see. We’ll see what happens when that counter reaches zero. Will it be a podcast? Or will it be an SMP?
Either way, I’m excited to see what happens
-Econs
Oh hello?! Hey everyone, Econs here. If you don’t remember me, that is understandable. I haven’t posted on this blog in six years change. Perhaps that’s because I stopped caring about Mindcrack a very long time ago. And honestly maybe it’s even kind of silly to bring this up, but I just found this illuminating.
I watched this video that I am going to link here. It is a segment from a Guude livestream. It’s not the best video because there’s some weird editing choices from whoever uploaded it to YouTube, but in this video, Guude talks about some unfortunate business dealings that happened with Rob, and his unedited thoughts about GenerikB. Now there isn’t a lot of information in this clip, but watching the video really puts into perspective at least some of what happened with the downfall of Mindcrack.
It really is unfortunate with what happened to the group. And honestly, after watching this 31 minute video I kinda wish I knew so much more.
