The People Have Spoken, and They Want Pools!
Last week’s survey produced a lot of surprises. Half of surveyees do not play fantasy football. The No. 1 way Pickmotors discover us is through AppStore searches. And no one finds us through Facebook. We wrote about that last discovery in our blog.
One thing that didn’t surprise us was the enthusiasm for league/pool play. Still, seeing the overwhelming support for it lit a fire under us.
So here’s the plan: we’ll get to work. By the time the playoffs start January 5, you will be able to create a Playoff Pool with Pickmoto. Your current game's head-to-head matchups and running point totals will continue to run through the playoffs. And the Playoff Pool will refresh competition for the NFL's second season. Your Playoff Pool can play with our point system or straight up i.e. most correct picks.
We hope that group play improves something that helped inspire Pickmoto: the Office Pool. We've been in many Office Pools. We emailed picks, filled out a spreadsheet in a coworker’s office, or handed over picks scribbled on binder paper. We want to bring Office Pools online. We think Pickmoto can make them more fun, quick and easy.
Moving forward, we will weave Pool play into our NBA app and into future games, including March Madness, which is likely next up...especially if the NHL doesn’t get its act together.
