Thoughts on Gerry Romero/Plesio/Plesio Surf

Gerry Romero is a TV director who only cares about ratings.  When Geo and Luna ask for his help when they arrive in Loch Mess, he rejects them without a second thought.  The only thing that changes his mind is when he realizes he can film himself helping them to look good.  In order to get more viewers, he created a fake Messie out of a Matter Wave submarine, and when Zack discovers this, he shoves the kid inside the submarine.  Talk about heartless!  Well, actually, he used to care about the truth when he was younger.  It didn’t work out, unfortunately, so he gave up and just said and did whatever brought in the most ratings.  It’s actually very sad to see that someone forcibly assimilated by their industry—it makes him more sympathetic than someone like Rich Dotcom.

I’m gonna be honest.  I think Plesio/Brachio is slightly adorable.  Plesio Surf is a neat design, but I’ve always like the Loch Ness Monster, so I’m probably biased.  They gave it a very submarine style look, which works pretty well.  His head and the top of his body poke up from beneath the battle field, but the rest of him is submerged.  What’s worse, there are two rocks blocking your attacks, one of which is constantly moving.  Plesio Surf can bite you, shoot a beam of electricity, or unleash a tsunami, so stay on your toes.
