I'm not saying I'm bad at writing shippy fanfiction, but I'm 16k words in and the main characters haven't even shared a single scene yet...
At the end of the day Jess checked on Charles before going to bed. With a smile on their face they started to fall asleep.
Later on Addison had snuck into the sleeping SQUIPs room, and pulled up a screen.
After typing some things and looking over the screens content and clicked ‘Y’.
Jess instantly became tense in their sleep, but stayed asleep. Addison chuckled.
When she spoke it was cold and quiet, nonetheless sounding intimidating.
“That was just too easy~ happy eternal sleep Jess~”
Zach went to check on Jess, who was still asleep. As the energy and power drained from their system.
He then returned to the living room and picked up a book and started to read. Not noticing that Addison had exited the building entirely.
Once out she leaned against the house.
“What am I going to do... gotta do something. Just what?”
She sighs and looks up at the night sky with a sigh. All the while thinking of how she can save Jess.
Zach moved Addison to what he assumed is her room. After setting her on the bed he heads to the living room.
Shortly after Addison sits up slowly with a groan.
“The fuck...”
Dude, not cool! You seemed like friends!
*She laughed for a moment.*
Addison: the two did seem close didn’t they?
*She glances at the screen and smirks.*
Addison: all is going well on my end though.
Addision do you have a crush on them?
*she didn’t seem to hear you as she was braiding her hair, along with watching some code on her screen.*
Addison: pardon me?

The last months had felt like years to the young gnome. Her promotion to command the Silver Dragoons was something her and Alynore had discussed for some time, and one she had felt she’d stepped into with her heart clear and her mind made up. However, she had not anticipated having to steer the dragoons through such a contentious time. She had to manage the wants of the members, and cut off some of the more reliable contracts that had shifted their focus to the horde, in order to remain neutral but in the good graces of the Alliance. Thankfully there was no shortage of defensive contracts, and few dragoons had any moral qualms about facing the horde if they came to alliance lands looking for trouble. It was a responsibility she took seriously, and at the sacrifice of her personal life. There were many weeks she would arrive at home just to sleep, or even not at all, and she felt it was possibly best to let her husband recover from whatever mental assaults were plaguing him, letting the more magically inclined friends of his help him through his struggles.
The gnome had plenty of theories, assuming that there were some residual energies from the nightmare latching on to him, and though she worried, she’d lately been smothering him with her worry, so when he did not come home, she didn’t pay it much mind, probably another nature fly, or maybe visiting someone to blow off some steam.
The next morning, she called him on ther comms, getting some rather disturbing sounding static, she’d have to get his replaced, it was clearly broken.
The next morning... she began asking around. Apparently he had been at the Inkwell, according to Darlain, and had some strange interactions with some of the newcomers before leaving. That was the last time someone saw him, as far as she could tell. She wandered by Vember and Rhiswyn, they had sadly not seen him.
Another morning... nothing. She couldn’t wait anymore, Inkwell sounded as good a start as any, and she couldn’t hoist this burden on others. It didn’t take long to arrange a boat to Boralus, and she’d be checking in with Wes while he held the fort.
She’d find him, and they’d figure this out. It was simply time to take a direct approach.
