One step closer to writing my 1st script :D
Script update!!!
I've been obsessing over plotting my script for the past few weeks now and I finally had a breakthrough. My issue was I knew WHAT was gonna happen in my story, but I didn't know HOW it was gonna happen (aka the plot). So I asked @writerlydays for some help and now my eyes have seen the light!! I WAS BLIND, BUT NOW I SEE!!!
She talked about subplots. I have to fill in the moments between my major plot points with subplots. So I made a list of all the subplots going on in my story. It looks like this:
Then, for each subplot, I broke it down further. So, the subplots have their own major plot points. Here is the diagram I came up with:
Once all my subplot diagrams are completed, I'm going to make a main plot diagram, then transfer all the plot points from each diagram to index cards. Each index card is a scene. Then, I'll combine all the scenes together to create my story.
Thanks @writerlydays !! I'm one step closer to completing my script!!!
Destruction (plot point 1/?)
“this is terrible” Jackie muttered to her companion as she kicked a piece of a house out of her way. She had been called by Cerdiwen, the leader of the Wizard order and ruler of the country of Galiva, to lend her expertise. What was left of the quiet logging town in the northern regions of Galiva looked like something out of the great war. The houses had been either flattened completely or were missing large sections of their stone walls. What made the situation even more eerie, however, was the complete lack of the life that once inhabited this town.
“It is” Cerdiwen agreed, a grim look on her face “there’s no trail of them anywhere, at least none that we can pick up. the destruction is so complete and the prints so confusing, we can’t make any sense of what happened. but that’s not the worst part. there’s no other footprints Jackie, nothing, just from the townspeople. nothing coming or leaving from the woods, and nothing we can find on the road” irritation was clear on her face and in her voice “there’s no holes underground, none that we can find, it all seems to have started and stopped right here” she gestures to the carnage around them “we need answers, Jackie, before this happens again”
Nodding, the Conjuror set to work examining the ground, taking notes of the things she found. Calling over her friend she showed her the underside of a piece of wall. A hole, the size of a fist, and reaching into the center of the stone block was visible.
“I think we’ve found our first clue Cerdi. there’s something stuck in the wall, here, can you get it without touching it?”
The mage nodded and used her telekinesis to retrieve a long, black, hard hair, and putting it in the bag Jackie held out “do you have any ideas about what it could be from?”
“a few... but I’ll need to test it to make sure” summoning an imp she sent it back to her lab “let’s look around for more clues
Searching for the rest of the day they found a total of five hairs similar to the one they had found earlier, and a few more holes. It had become apparent that there was more than one thing that had destroyed the town, but whatever they were, they were long gone. Jackie could only hope that it was just some beast, and that there wasn’t anything more behind it
