Dead men tell no tales | Areum x Jinki
@miareum
It had been almost a year since he started working as a lawyer assistant at the public prosecutors’ office. In all these months he had paid the SPD station multiple visits, but still he felt uncomfortable every time he entered the grey building.
The painfully beautiful memories of his childhood were always lingering in the back of his head, waiting for an opportunity to resurface once more. But he oppressed them, no matter how difficult it was. Those memories belonged to another life, the life before his father betrayed him, the life before he was forced to change his entire identity. He was someone different now, someone stronger and more confident.
Without even considering to drop by at the real SPD office (if he could avoid his father, he would), he immediately makes a turn and heads down to meet the medical examiner who would help him get some information on a case he and his bosses were working on.
The uncomfortable feeling of the prodding memories diminished with every step he took, but another unsettling feeling grew in his heart as he neared the lab he knew he’d find the examiner. Even when he was lucky to see no opened up corpse on the autopsy table, the cold and the thought of the dead behind the small metal doors still freaked him out.
“Mister Kim?” Jinki called out as he entered the room that always felt like he stepped inside a fridge. “Where are you? You have a real-life visitor who will actually answer when you ask questions!”
