PLOT DROP.
There’s only way to be rid of a rat -- extermination. This was always part of his plan, in the end. The disappearance? A mere distraction. The ransom? A carefully orchestrated goose chase. But the fate of the young Black heir was sealed the moment he made the fatal mistake of not covering his digital tracks.
His orders are simple: Kill Regulus Black.
[ Sunday 16th June ]
1:00 AM: The deadline passes, the ransom demand unadhered to fully as planned -- thanks to Lucius. [ Emma & Rabastan ] know the consequences of opposing Riddle, and see his orders through, lest his next one be to get rid of them. It is Rabastan that delivers the life-ending blow to young Regulus, watching the lights leave dark eyes. Then, Emma must utilize her forensics knowledge to not only clear the scene of evidence and traces of their presence, but plant false evidence onto the body for the authorities (laughably, likely herself) to uncover.
3:00 AM: Spilled hospital-grade canteen coffee hits the ground. A woman in scrubs releases a blood-curdling scream into the night, the body of Regulus Black discovered. The location -- the car park of St. Mungo’s Hospital. [ Andromeda ] is on shift and, once police tape barricades the area, she is asked to confirm his identity.
11:00 PM: Official statements, written by [ Daisy ] on behalf of the police and [ Bellatrix ] on behalf of her family, announcing the tragedy of Regulus’ death are issued to the press and the story is swiftly published by the Daily Prophet, the young heir’s face plastered on every newspaper cover and website homepage under the Triple M brand at [ Lucius’ ] request. The post-mortem team confirm that his death was caused by murder.
[ Monday 17th June ]
The investigation into the murder of Regulus Black begins. Operation Auror spends the day discussing potential suspects, gathered around a table littered with photos of those who may have a motive. A lack of evidence proving that anyone from the Order of the Phoenix is actually involved is pointed out by [ Alastor ], keen to lead them away from a scent that was false all along and focus on those more likely to be guilty, leading the team to expand their search.
The House of Black and all other Sacred 28 businesses make the decision to close their headquarters for the day as a show of respect to the young life lost. Tributes pour in, flowers filling the pavement outside the House of Black’s London office. [ Lucius ] uses his multimedia platforms to release a video appealing to the public for any information on the Black family’s behalf.
[ Tuesday 18th June ]
The following suspects are located and taken in for questioning by Operation Auror:
Sirius Black, the estranged brother of Regulus, rumoured to potentially be involved in the Order of the Phoenix. His motive includes frayed family connections, a history of unruly behaviour, and a not-so-subtle angry tip-off from his father.
[ Bellatrix ], a cousin of Regulus. Her motive includes the fact that, as Regulus’ eldest cousin, and due to Sirius being denied access to the family fortune, she is legally likely to gain what Regulus would have inherited upon his parents’ deaths
Evan Rosier, a distant, non-blood-related relative of Regulus. Regulus was found with a ticket stub for The Dungeon’s cloakroom in one of his pockets. Evan advises that he does not keep tabs on who visited the nightclub and refrains from answering any further questions without a lawyer present.
[ Wednesday 19th June ]
The Dungeon nightclub is inspected by Operation Auror one hour before opening, headed up by [ Alastor ] who takes great satisfaction in being able to investigate the venue. The team consequently turn up empty-handed apart from the club CCTV which gets sent for visual analysis. The club remains closed until further notice, ruining a number of weekend plans ( as pointed out by The Daily Prophet FlooNet account ).
[ Thursday 20th June ]
The following suspects are located and taken in for questioning by Operation Auror:
[ Amycus ], in the same social society as Regulus. Known by the police for his aggressive behaviour. Posted a video on FlooNet last month in which he claimed that he would kill Regulus for cheating in a drag race between the two of them -- which Amycus lost.
[ Andromeda ], a cousin of Regulus. She is rumoured to have distanced herself from the family over the past few years, her presence away from the public eye noted by investigators. Her motive is unknown but some suspicion arises at the coincidence of Regulus’ body being found at her place of work.
[ Narcissa ], a cousin of Regulus. Her motive is also unknown but, given tensions in the family, interviewing her may provide better insight into currently confusing dynamics and unanswered questions.
[ Friday 21st June ]
[ Maya ] announces on FlooNet that the new House of Black men’s clothing collection, which will replace the one destroyed by the Order of the Phoenix, will be named Regulus in his memory, with two-thirds of all proceeds going to charity.
[ Monday 24th June ]
Operation Auror visits the homes of those who may have more information on Regulus and, in an attempt to learn more about the Order of the Phoenix, speak to The Quibbler who have criticised the protest group on multiple occasions -- as well as, interestingly, the Sacred 28.
[ Rabastan ], in the same social society as Regulus. Was seen on CCTV at The Dungeon on a “date” with Alecto the same night as Regulus. Is soothed by the fact that he is aware of who Riddle had Emma frame with the false evidence.
[ Alecto ] in the same social society as Regulus. Was seen on CCTV at The Dungeon on a “date” with Rabastan the same night as Regulus.
Xenophilius Lovegood, known to vocally oppose the Order and the Sacred 28 through The Quibbler.
[ Ted ], known to vocally oppose the Order and the Sacred 28 through The Quibbler.
[ Emma ] watches on as the forensic evidence she planted on the body begins to reveal the framed murderer’s identity...
Please set threads between the dates of 16th June and 24th June.
