Good evening. My name is Catherine Graves and this is Nightrest News.
Jacob Oh was found unconscious in Fog Gate just an hour ago after sustaining serious injuries due to a car crash. His Mercedes-Benz had travelled down the steep embankment leading into Collins Cove before colliding into nearby trees. According to our sources, Oh, a math teacher at Wardwell Academy, is currently receiving treatment at Griggs General.
What our eyes and ears on the ground are telling us is that law enforcement is treating this as an attempted murder and not as a vehicular accident. The crash site has been taped off and the local sherrif is on site. While we await an official statement from police, sources are saying that a cell phone, believed not to belong to Oh has been retrieved from the vehicle.
Oh was previously seen at Wardwell Academy, where the school acted as a shelter for numerous members of the community during this recent snowstorm. If anyone has any information in relation to Jacob Oh and the accident, please contact local law enforcement.
For those traveling on the road, drive slow and be aware of icy conditions as the snow plows continue to clear up the streets. As always, stay safe. I’m Catherine Graves and this has been Nightrest News.
for a town as used to danger and misery as sallow hills, halloween has always been a joyous time. such issues of blue moons and revenant infestations of previous years had no effects on excitement of upcoming festivities. children had forgotten the horrors of the prior year, decorations and masks being bought by the dozens. it was halloween again and it was time to celebrate.
all until a list of rules written in crimson ink had been nailed to the front door of town hall.
“how could we forget?” older residents had whispered. “it’s been seven years, it’s right on time.”
even children born in the town knew of the tragedy that befell sallow hills every seventh october. the newer ‘travelers’ to the town could only read the list with increasing confusion, wondering just what dangers could be brought about by breaking the list of increasingly bizarre rules.
the ‘travelers’ did not take the rules seriously, until a child went missing that very first night for breaking the first rule. there was no manhunt, just a somber vigil held by the child’s parents. people began to flock back to the doors to read the rules over again.
1. always be bathed in light. even in the dead of night.
2. the church grounds, including the surrounding graveyards and out-buildings, are forbidden.
3. a cup of milk should be left out every night as an offering. adding honey will increase your chances of surviving.
4. hang poison hemlock above your door.
5. under no circumstances is anyone to leave their property on the full moon, regardless of species.
6. a residence must keep a candle, log, or lamp burning at all times. no exceptions.
7. if a bloody child in a black cloak is seen walking alone, do not approach them. they do not need help. that is not a child.
armes sallow, as she had done every seventh october, urged people to abide by the rules. even her own immortality was no protection against this nameless enforcer. sallow hills would survive this october, just as they always had.
as long as they followed the rules.

location: the north star lighthouse
timeframe: shortly after the dec. plot drop
Though he had absolutely no frame of context for what, exactly, a lighthouse was, Soren was more than happy to do what Scylla had asked of him; without hesitation, though the curiosity was palpable. He understood the basics, just by looking at it. The tower glowed, at night, and apparently was some sort of safety measure that humans on boats took. Why? He still hadn’t figured out those details, and somehow, this wasn’t covered in the Sea Witch’s lessons on her island.
Truthfully, Soren was flying blind; but this felt better than following Gemma around town had, so he was feeling pretty good about his chances of success. The first task on his agenda? Investigate closer. So there he was, after dark, lurking around the lighthouse after circling it twice. He’d noticed some windows, but none big enough or close enough to the ground for him to get in; so Soren scaled a few rocks, and now perched precariously on the slick stone, jigging against the hatch of the window aggressively to try and make the buckle give way, and grant him entrance. He grunted under the effort of it, and was beginning to wonder if finding a small stone to smash the glass would be more efficient -
this marks the end of our third plot drop! we hope you all had fun. as the plot drop closes off, a couple things:
