Underdark 2: The Undarkening! Aka @plothooksinc blessed us all with a sequel to Underdark; Chiaroscuro which focuses on Raph and Donnie's side of the story and the rescue operation. Obviously, I enjoyed it greatly. I sketched the first doodle immediately after KJ showed me the first wip of the story. The 2nd is for celebrating her finishing the fic <3 And as an extra, here's a couple Mikey&Leos from the regular story. One of them I published with my first Underdark fanart, but I feel it might been too hidden under Read More. The other one is new ✨
Typeset: No Rest For The Weary
@plothooksinc greenlit sharing, so here we go! One typeset for No Rest For The Weary, because it is one of the best things I have ever read and I wanted to.
(The images are uploading to Tumblr with extra purple, for some reason????? It's more reddish in real life, I promise)

8 and 14 for the writer's meme!
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
uh. well. you see. there was one (1) chapter of the canon chat fic that was april/sunita. and then i mentioned hypno/warren a couple times in npwd. um. do those count - I JSUT DONT REALLY HAVE. ANY BIG RISE SHIPS LMAO there's a couple i think are cute (i.e. the two mentioned and also april/cass) but like. shipping is very much not my focus a;ljfdlksjfkld
14. What’s your shortest work of the year?
this little fic i wrote for a 2al update that absolutely destroyed me
/slams hand on the table
DONNIENOES
(I mean I would ask about Shoes for Turtles but you already gave a lot on that, but feel free to waffle more about it anyway)
(it occurs to me that you did not actually tag me in that post, you just left it open to whoever and I considered myself tagged. there. I have edited my post.)
“Leo’s still up there,” Raph said in the Rise movie, to Donnie, the one brother who can FLY. who, in canon, was probably too injured and weak to conjure a means to fly, yadda yadda. Donnienoes, a series titled Dominoes on Ao3, is me deciding nahhhhh let’s have him try to save Leo. Thus was born Drifting.
the repercussions of Drifting are supposed to be addressed in a sequel called Landing, and that is why Donnienoes is still in the WIP folder. but it has been FIGHTING me. I do not know what to do with it. neither threats of angst nor promises of fluff have worked to get it off the ground. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
SHOES FOR TURTLES IS MY DARLING AND I WILL TALK ABOUT IT ANYTIME. It is my love letter to every iteration for making TMNT writ large so reiterable. It is my first exploration of shuffling the sibling dynamics. It is a desperate scrabbling to find plot buried in a really cool sandbox. It is many things. It intimidates me🙃
8 and 10 for the writer's ask meme!
hi!! :D
8. does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? if not, would you tell anyone?
sort of! 99% of the people around me look at "giant nerd who grew up in a socially isolating place but was very online and very passionate about fan things + notoriously prolific writer who doesn't share their writing with family/friends v much" and miss the very obvious ✨FANFIC✨ conclusion. to the extent that there's a long-running joke about it. but it's come up with a couple of my friends very briefly so ??
10. how has writing positively impacted your mental health or overall mood?
oh man. I've been writing consistently since I was 7 so this is. hard to answer XD off the top of my head, it's given me space to process and work through things, it's given me whole worlds to explore and create when I desperately needed an escape, it's led me to very dear friends...I could go on
deep writer asks

Author Interview
tagged by @plothooksinc forever ago, and randomly remembered today... i meant to do this literally the day i was tagged lfkjffls
name: angel; i go by it just about everywhere, writing-wise!
fandoms: i tend to hyperfocus here and there, but I always have mainstays: TMNT, One Piece, Undertale, and Osomatsu-san are my main fandoms, the former two having been part of my life for well over the past decade.
where you post: ao3 primarily, occasionally ffnet, and tumblr very rarely.
most popular oneshot: it’s a twoshot now, but even when it was still a oneshot, Monsooned Malabar surprised me with how popular it was. then again, Persona is probably one of the bigger fandoms I’ve posted to.
most popular multi-chapter fic; favorite story you’ve written: two-in-one here; i think those would both have to go to Kumatsu-san, which isn’t very popular at all by most authors’ standards, but was received much more warmly than i expected in a relatively small fandom. it also comes out as my favorite because i have a soft spot for long-running fics that i’m actually able to finish, as i’m more of a oneshot kind of writer. plus, using the tone and pov that it does, it was just a ton of fun to write.
fic you were nervous to post: Causality. it was a silly-in-joke-turned-theory fic that i took into a serious direction, and i realized from the start how truly ludicrous the idea was. it seriously didn’t help that it was written from the pov of one of the most universally disliked characters in the fandom. luckily, people seemed to roll with it, though i’ve been told by more than one person that they still hated said character..... it’s okay, me too.
how you choose your titles: hm... i don’t have any specific patterns or themes for the way i name things. i prefer shorter titles, i guess, seeing as how most of my titles are 1-3 words or thereabouts. i do know that i like wordplay and metaphors and i consciously weave those in where i can. titles that i can get away with subtly namedropping into the actual fic are fun, too.
do you outline: haha... not as much as i should. i’m the kind of person who comes up with a basic idea, writes out a few strong, specific milestone scenes, and then sort of writes my way between them all. i’ve used outlines before, certainly, but i’m not very good at sticking to them -- i tend to feel so limited by them that i end up rehauling them completely multiple times. these days, i tend to keep a very basic outline, and let myself spontaneously write myself past them, going back and tightening up/editing things where i need to.
complete: as i mentioned, i’m more of a oneshot writer, so in a sense you could say most of my stories are complete. my track record with the few actual multi-chaptered fics i have... er, not as good (- ̫ -`;)
in progress: Gomatsu-san and impendo, incertus are the two fics i still consider active, at the moment, but i have a small collection of other WIPs that i’d love to return to one day, if i can find the motivation to write for those fandoms again.
coming soon/not yet started: lord, i don’t even know. i’m an impulse writer and will pretty much start at least one scene of something as soon as it comes to mind. i will say that i have around two ososan fics with various parts of them written out, both of them osomatsu-centric (one being more choukei-specific).
i’m also getting the itch to write for tmnt again, and while i lost all of my WIPs from that fandom a long time ago, i still remember the basic concepts for a few of them -- the one banging around in my skull most strongly right now is a don-centric one, with a leo-centric one right behind it, because i’m predictable lmao.
do you accept prompts: generally yes! i just feel a bit bad about coming out and asking for them, because i’m a slow worker (not to mention a very busy one). but i absolutely adore prompts and i’m always flattered when someone comes to me with an idea they’d like to see me write.
upcoming story you are most excited to write: finishing the above two WIPs! other than that, i try not to count any chickens before they’re incubated, wheezes
tagging: ... anyone who wants to do this! the only friends i have who a) still frequents tumblr and b) still writes fanfiction are, to my knowledge, @calledforhelp and @dawntreaderflynne... whom i love and may do at their own discretion and leisure uvu but if this looks fun to you, please knock yourself out!!
