At my school, my class recently received a new teacher since the last one quit. Except the new one actually makes me so unnecessarily angry.
She’s a professional writer (apparently) who was actually one of the people who made the AI platform Gemini. She not only supports the use of AI for writing/storytelling, but also uses the AI to make art. I’m unsure as to why someone who enjoys the craft of writing would decide to support something that steals from it, honestly makes no sense to me.
She also told my class to use Ai on our fucking assignments. I’m actually Crashing Out. These kids in my class also don’t understand how hurtful the use of Ai is, and I can’t do anything to stop it. It’s Lowkey Pissing Me Off SO MUCH
My teacher thinks the use of AI generated art is harmless, and after class I do talk to her. I’m not antagonizing her or anything, just subtly hinting at how uncomfortable the use of it is, especially for someone of her profession to be using it. It’s not like I’m holding her at gunpoint.
I think the moral of this is that I’m actually fucking doomed and even the creators don’t care for the destruction of their own craft.
