so are they explicitly condemning air nomad philosophy here? “hope is only a distraction,” but hope is a pretty big theme of this episode and the series overall, but in s3 the air nomad philosophy is upheld as the ultimate moral code. why is there so much picking and choosing going on here? why are we told to believe in nuance in s1 and s2 but all of that is disregarded in s3?
