Okay okay hear me out. New Girl but Nick is a butch lesbian. That’s it send post.
Sometimes Sweetheart “sleep walks.”
Though, that was a stretch. They were conscious, just very disoriented. Normally, they say some nonsense and then go back to sleep. Other times, well…
Milo woke up to shuffling sounds, followed by a thud and a muffled curse. He could only guess what had caused it by the lack of warmth at his side. When he finally sat up, his Sweetheart was just getting to the door, the light from the hall being flicked on.
Milo shielded his eyes while they adjusted. "You okay Sweetheart?"
"Grilled cheese."
Milo wasn't sure if it was because his mind was still laggy from sleep, or just the fact that they answered with 'grilled cheese', but he immediately broke into giggles at the absurdity of it all. "What?"
"Grill me a cheese."
"I'm not grilling you a cheese," Milo said, it being muffled by his chuckles.
Sweetheart sniffed, as if they were tearing up. “Hungry.”
Milo tried to stifle the laughs, climbing out of bed to get to them. “Sweetheart, it’s the middle of the night.”
“I’m hungry,” they said again, their voice nearly a whine.
Now closer to them, Milo could see that his Sweetheart was still mostly asleep. They’ve had a tough week, and when this happens the unconsciously seek out comfort. Usually, this was an increase in physical contact with him, or taking an evening to curl up with their favourite blanket and book, or even ordering from their favourite restaurant. Apparently, tonight, at nearly three in the morning, they were looking for their comfort food: Grilled Cheese. Even if they were barely awake.
“You,” Milo said, gently grabbing their arms once they were close enough, “are going to come back to bed.”
“But grilled cheese,” Sweetheart said, and this time they were full on pouting. In the light from the hallway coming through the door, Milo could see that his Sweethearts eyes were shinning slightly.
“Are you about to cry?!” Milo asked, another chuckle bubbling up.
“I want grilled cheese,” Sweetheart repeated.
“You need sleep,” Milo countered, “you’re so tired.”
“No, I’m not-“ The sentence was interrupted by a huge yawn.
Milo chuckled, leaning in to kiss their forehead. “Tell you what,” He said when he leaned back. “Why don’t you try going back to sleep, and if you’re still hungry in an hour I’ll make you grilled cheese.”
Sweetheart physically perked up after that. “Promise?”
“Yes, I promise,” Milo said, knowing they won’t last half an hour in this state.
Sweetheart grabbed his hand, tugging him back toward the bed. He had just enough time to reach around the door frame and flip off the hall light and close the door again before he was dragged back to bed.
It didn’t take long for them to get settled cuddled into his side again, eyes fighting to stay open. Milo had been drawing random shapes on their arm, humming gently. It’s hadn’t been more than ten minutes, and he was sure if he kept this up they’d be back asleep in no time.
“I know what you’re doing,” they slurred after a bit.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about,” Milo lied.
“You’re trying to put me to sleep.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Milo lied again. “I would never.”
“I’m getting that grilled cheese,” Sweetheart threatened, but it being lost in the way they could barley open their eyes.
“Oh, I’m sure you will,” Milo said, a quiet chuckle following it. He leaned toward them to kiss their forehead again, Sweetheart sighing at the action. “Do you want to hear about my day?”
Sweetheart hummed in response, already forgoing words. They loved it when he talked about his day in a hushed tone. They were interested to hear about it, but listening was one of the things that could easily put them to sleep. Sometimes they’d get him to ramble to them when they were having trouble falling asleep.
So, that’s what he did now. It didn’t take long before their breathing evened out next to him. It was adorable how his Sweetheart slept. They looked so at peace, something he couldn’t say he saw often.
He leaned in again, pressing a kiss to their nose, then their forehead once more, before finally settling down and closing his eyes himself.
He’d do anything to protect their peace.

The Dark Between the Stars is tickling the brainpan again and I want to ramble about it but I just don’t know where to start.
Every idea I get excited about requires pages and pages of context and I don’t want to wall-of-text y’all.
When you lose count of how many times the girls kissed in the final season that's proper representation.
You know, It wasn’t right for Roman to laugh at Janus but he is right. Janus, even if you say he hasn’t directly hurt Thomas by lying to him - that he didn’t goad on Patton in the frog scene, he is not trustworthy. Roman on the other hand has always tried his best to help Thomas. In the end, they picked Janus over Roman. Roman is worth less than Janus. In a “it’s me or him” scenario, it was Roman who lost, Roman who is an outcast. Roman is alone, because they picked Deceit over him...
ok i’ve taken ages to answer this but that’s because this is honestly one of my favourite asks i’ve ever gotten. i just wanna thank you nonnie bc this has actually made me think a lot and get much deeper into this all then i would have originally gone. also, this answer might seem biased, but know that i do see roman’s side to this and i think no one in this situation (in terms of insults and such) is 100% innocent. strap in y’all bc this might be a little long - i’m answering step by step.
Ok so, my thought on Janus’s previous persona is that it was something akin to Virgil’s. Thomas, Patton, Roman, and Logan all have some bias against/negative view of the dark sides, however large or small it is. Virgil said it himself: “I knew you’d listen to me as too scary to ignore. He created his dark and scary persona so he’d be listened to and so what he said wouldn’t be drowned out by anyone’s opinion of him. I think it was the same for Janus. The lie-speak, the suave villain persona - I think they were put on so he would be listened to. You can’t ignore someone who seems to be a sort of “active threat”. I also don’t think Janus has really hurt Thomas, either. He’s been harsh and brought up things that might have been upsetting to hear, but after re-watching “Can Lying Be Good?” and both SvS episodes, none of Janus’s lies have been hurtful. It’s been the truths that have been the most painful to comprehend, not the lies.
As for Roman also trying his best to help Thomas, that is definitely true. However, as Janus and Patton agree in “Selfishness v. Selflessness”, every side has their own agenda. Whether consciously or unconsciously, every side does have a certain way they’d like to lead Thomas. Roman is the hopes and dreams, among other things, but he still balances out with other sides to make decisions. The key is the fact they work together to try and balance it all out in order to make the best choices. I do think there are times Roman’s input is ignored, but Roman has tried to help Thomas, but one could argue Janus has, as well. Janus’s ideas are always an option, no matter how controversial they are. Same with Roman’s ideas. The outcome and methods could be different, but both could almost always be done.
They didn’t exactly pick Janus over Roman, they just added him to the equation. To give Janus a seat at the table, they had to oppose Roman because he was actively against this. Roman certainly isn’t worth any less than Janus; they just have different strengths, weaknesses, and viewpoints that need to be incorporated into decision-making. As much as I love Roman, asking everyone else in the room if “[they were] going to take [Janus’s] side? Over [him]?” created the “me or him” situation. There was no way to give Janus a seat at the table, something Thomas needed to do to have a healthy decision-making process, without telling Roman that, in this instance, he was wrong. Again, this doesn’t mean Roman is any less than another side. It simply means his ideal situation wasn’t healthily sustainable and the current reality of who had input in decisions needed to change.
Roman will in no way be an outcast or alone, especially in disliking Janus. Virgil himself agreed that he hated Janus during SvS, so that’s at least two sides who are really not Deceit fans. While these events might create tension or even animosity, they don’t make Roman any less than any other side. It was just something Thomas (and Patton) realised needed to happen. Healthy decisions come from the input of multiple viewpoints and voices; this simply added another needed viewpoint into further conversations.
