“Nice outfit. You’ve got a whole... Wasteland Witch thing going.” Maybe the sarcasm was a bit rude, but sometimes he truly couldn’t help it.

Never let it be said that Gil Montalvo was an altruist.
Almost as soon as Veronica had insinuated her way into her company, she’d turned back south, hiking through the Primm Pass towards a stash that her post-rehab strength simply couldn’t recover alone. Two pairs of hands, though... Yes, taking the Pass was leading them, in reality, away from Vegas, given the infestation of the Long 15 north-west loop by Khans and Deathclaws, but this was a diversion worth their time.
At the sight of the long-rusted drive-in screen, the Courier hit the Pip-Boy’s radio, shutting off the cheery voice of Mr. New Vegas mid-story, and listened. No, besides the gentle hum of ED-E’s anti-grav, nothing. Maybe it was paranoia talking, but the last time Gil had gone off the path, she’d ended up buried alive. Silence. Probably seemed a damn lunatic, and rightly so, as they headed beyond the drive-in: it certainly wasn’t an impressive stop. Just a lean-to, with a roof of rusted metal and two walls of mountainous crag -- but it had a bed, and a little fire-pit, and for a long-haul courier, the sight of the vehicle hidden in scrub brush was a sight for sore eyes. Her motorcycle. She could’ve cheered.
“Paydirt. C’mon, Veronica. We get her back on the main road and oiled up, it’s easy ridin’, long as we stick to the Fifteen.”

Dogmeat tilts his head seeing something shiny on the ground. Looks like someone’s glasses? Stepping closer to it there’s a couple scratches to it and a little crack at the sides but otherwise still in tact enough to wear. Lowering his head to it, picking up the sides he looks around. Someone’s probably looking for these things.
“ !!! “
Hearing someone near by muttering about glasses and being unable to find them Dogmeat hurries over with those funny looking shades in his mouth. Wagging his tail as he starts to see them before coming to a halt.
“ Bark bark! “
@pneumatiicgauntlet
“Well hello, gorgeous... What can I do for ya? Not lookin’ for trouble are you?”

The ghoul had planned to be by himself tonight, seeing that the Courier and the rest of their rag-tag team had left the suite to either enjoy life on the Strip or out to the Mojave to journey about with their own business. Since he was going to be alone tonight, he decided to practice the very necessary skill and hobby of his called cooking.
The man had gotten out a thawed brahmin T-bone steak and was prepping the meal to season it when he heard the elevator ding outside and someone walk down the hallway into the kitchen.
“Oh, it’s you, Veronica,” Raul turned his head back just enough to look at the hooded woman in the corner of his eye. “Take it the Boss got tired of you and sent you home, then?”
"I can't help if you don't let me!"
“That’s exactly how that works.” he threw aside the dead ghoul he’d finished off, glancing around for any more before turning to the bite one had landed on his arm. “Guns work a little better on ghouls than brute force. You’re not going to do much.”

She glanced down at the body, and then back up, and sent an awkward smile as she squatted next to the corpse.
❝I didn’t kill him. ❞ She explained, though the truth wasn’t much better. ❝But I... Did let the Legionary. And let him leave two. With the Dog Tags. Apparently they get some sort of reward for those.❞
Helping Legionaries never sounded good, did it? [Even though she did it quite often.] Especially just letting them kill troopers or, really, anyone they come across. But how much did she really care?
❝I’m just taking what they left.❞ That sounded worse, didn't it?
