This blog was long overdue and now I'm not sure what to write anymore. The strong feelings are gone but you know I recently have been a believer that all things happen at the time that they should happen. Now that I've read a lot of articles and watched too many videos of what really happened in the Mamasapano Clash, maybe, but I cannot be so sure of myself, I can write objectively. Dawn of January 25, 2015, Sunday, while most of us are still soundly sleeping in the comfort of our homes little did we know that the brave men of PNP Special Action Force are already engaged in a dreadful battle. They were supposed to finish the operation in less than an hour. They actually did, but on their way out, they were met with the force of MILF, BIFF and another private men. They were totally outmanned and its not rocket science to understand that its impossible for them not to get out alive. Watching news of families wailing loudly at the coffins of their loved ones, crying for justice is something that I am weak at. I cannot stand death. I cannot stand the thought of losing someone. What more them brutally killed, some even mutilated, their killers even took their clothings and firearms as if celebrating. What were they thinking? I mean really (oops, here it is, emotions springing up!) just how sick can you be? But I would no longer dwell on their evil doings since that would mean praising their satanic acts, no thank you. I want to put the thoughts I have in mind about these courageous men whom I may not know personally but was made known to me by God through this fearful incident. 1. How lucky can these SAF troopers be that at their young age, God's plan for them was revealed. Many people spend their lives trying to fill that empty space that only God can satisfy while these young men, they were deeply favored by God and gave them the peace their hearts longs for. Not only did they accomplish their tasks with flying colors but God made sure as well that the entire Filipino community and the whole world will know about it. 2. They were not alone during the combat. God was with them. I believe that God took them all with Him in heaven and gave them their place. They did their part, they were tired, God gave them rest. 3. Their killers may have killed them inhumanely and tore their physical bodies, but they were not able to break their brave souls. God protected them with a shield that not even the most powerful weapon can destroy. 4. I can compare policemen and military people to Catholic priests. Its more than just a job, its a vocation. They put not only their brains and talents in the profession they chose but their whole being. Normal people work from 9-5 and every night they are assure to be reunited with their loved ones. These men and women on the other hand, once they are on duty, cliché to say but one foot is indeed on the grave. Every operation is a 50-50 chance of survival and their families pray day and night to keep their loved ones protected. "Thank you for sharing your dad with us" - this is what the guy in the movie American Sniper said to the kid of the marine who saved him from the battle. Indeed, to the families of the Fallen 44 and to those truthful and honest policemen and women and soldiers, thank you for sharing your husbands, fathers, sons and daughters and relatives with us. 5. Factoring out corruption and assuming that taxes really go to their proper usage, I am more than happy to give my share and not complain if that would mean better facilities and weapons for the welfare of those protecting us, why not? 6. My eyes are now wide open to the many things that's happening in the world and why we need to really go to God and beg for His mercy. Now I am realizing why some people pray hard and leave everything to Him because there is no other way and solution, only God and through Jesus Christ. 7. We should live our lives always thankful and happy. A lot of people have died already, most recently the Fallen 44, for our freedom and peace. God let His son die so that we may find life in Him. Let us not waste our precious lives in things that would not glorify God and justify the death of His son and our beloved heroes. Let's be thankful for being alive! I think I've forgotten majority of what I have to say but nevertheless, I made my point. Thank you SAF. Thank you God. From now on, SAF is more than just an acronym, way past what it stands for SPECIAL ACTION FORCE. SAF is life. SAF is freedom. SAF means normalcy for us. SAF is sacrifice. Thank you Fallen 44. We will always remember. ❤〰➰
