I will stand by that I think (unnecessary) shoplifting is an incredibly white culture thing to do that some pocs have adopted to claim a freedom white ppl get to participate in w little to no consequences while they get accused even if they haven't done anything — rather than the other way around.

Like when white people shoplift they just shoplift cuz that's a thing they can do, while w poc ppl if they shoplift it's cuz it's something they can't do and they are trying to feel a sense of overpowerment over that unfairness.

This is not me being like "I stand for shoplifting!" I don't do it and I don't really encourage it, I was just reminded of the fact that shoplifting is really associated w black/black-mixed/arab/arab-mixed ppl and it pisses me off because white people are way more likely to unnecessarily shoplift and if poc do unnecessarily shoplift I feel like there has always been some deeper reason for it like pressure from white peers this is what they gotta do to prove they are cool and deserve to be in the group or like "fuck it, they do this shit all the time, why can't I?" and or "everyone always expects this of me anyway"

By "unnecessary shoplifting" I mean it'd not required to steal for survival. But like shoplifting extra shit you don't necessarily need. A cute lipstick. A hat. A fancy bag. Nice shirt...

Stealing food or necessities (from plentiful sources. So not other struggling people, but like convenience stores or something) to survive when you are too poor to afford it is another topic entirely and I definetly do not condemn that at all I'm actually very for it.
