Awaiting next new adventure(with you!)

It begins with the anticipation of Hearing your voice.Feeling your touch.Reading your messages.The longing for our next encounterThey are the catalyst that lightsthe spark within my coreand it becomesan energy that radiatesWhich extends beyondthe plane of my bodylike the starlights that span the galaxyEveryone can seeit looks good on meThe sensation I feel howeveris a constant throbbing at the center of my bodyThat surges through every cell and nervepumping a goofy tinglingthat at times take away the body's natural inclinationslike breathing and thinkingGives this feeling of being light headed without the nauseaand the brain's ability to issue instructionsbecomes overtaken with images of you. As the seasons outside of me changebut inside it is always summerThe warm giddy feeling of being lightly intoxicatedon a quiet beach as the sun setsThe red sky that meshes with the blueA perfect metaphor for passion and calmCombined with a desire to be a better versionthan the person I was yesterday.All from just wanting to be close to you.

I can’t help but feel a sense of pride.

When we are out, wandering around

 Just you and I

I want to grab your hand tightly

And walk along crowded streets

With my chest puffed out as if ready to yell -

“Yes everyone! She is with me!”

While rushing to find some place quiet and remote

Just to sit treacherously close to you and steal a kiss

As you talk to me about humanity and the world.

Sipping on Vodka Tonic while I drink an Old-Fashioned

Can life get any better?

The Mystic

She is a tribute

To every woman

Immortalized in pages of mythological lore

Like Helen and Cleopatra.

Or The Muses that inspire

Men that put pen to paper

To write about her.

But her senses tell her

That she needs not to respond

To those silly infatuations

She is the continuing legacy of the

The gods immortalized in stars

And as she studies the constellations to find answers

The connection she has with them is undeniable

For she is Aphrodite for her beauty and passion

Her wisdom and strength parallels to that of Athena

 Mercurial Madness, like the planet and god

That shares her name

Moods can shift quickly, hot and cold

 Dual nature of the Gemini revealed

The temperance of a spring day

Coupled with the occasional storm

Bringing flurries of darkness.

Her analytical side consumes her

Which she oddly allows.

But there is beauty in her strangeness

Intelligence in her confusion

Joy following melancholy

Calm in her volatility

Reflective of the sign

She is born under

Mysterious to those who know her

Captivating to all that see.

Believe in God?

Believe in the universe?

Prefer to believe solely in science?

My choice-

Science will one day be able

To solve the unknown

Fill in gaps

Demystify what the mystics

So selfishly cling to.

Or can it?

Every now and then

Something unusual happens

Like a beautiful friendship

With a lady mystery

 Her mere presence alone

May ultimately prove to me

that a higher entity exists

Drawn to her like a moth to a flame

Sacrificing personal regard

Just to be allowed to experience it

Her tangible features are striking

But there is more

Much more…

Transcending the physical

Reawakening the soul.

No explanation can be given

No explanation needed.

Analysis would mean

A deference to science

And science cannot explain completely

Something so wonderfully strange

Such as an unlikely connection

And should the universe deem fit

To one day say

She needs to go far away

The feelings of loss and longing

 Will be paired

With gratitude and comfort.

Knowing that something

So unique exists

And time being spent

Although never long enough

is meaningful.

But you can’t prove that by me

And as long as we’re together baby

Show some respect for me

Surely you can understand

Aretha knows how to keep it real

Tell it like it really is

Her vocals are phenomenal

Her lyrics are empowering

The soulful sounds of a queen

Always dominate the scene

I can her sing

When I knew I had to face another day

Lord it makes me feel so tired

Before the day I met you
