New Zealand Terrorist Attack
My heart goes out to the victims and their friends and families, and all those affected today by the news. Muslims and non-Muslims are deeply grieved. Let’s pray for those affected and pray for our communities to recover from this tragedy. Each one of us needs to imagine that this was our mosque, church, synagogue, temple, community centre, town hall etc. Why wait for this to happen? Be proactive and think about what you can do to prevent something as brutal as this from ever happening in your home town.
Muslims: the non-Muslim neighbours, colleagues, acquaintances you have, have you had a real conversation with them? Have you spoken to them with love, grace and genuine openness? Have you invited them round for a cup of tea?
Non-Muslims: those Muslims who you come across in your day to day life, are you trying to get to know them? To understand them? You’ll find that they are just like you if you just give them a chance...
We all are responsible for the small level of change we can make right now within our homes and communities. Don’t leave it till it’s too late.
