I looove how they subvert the damsel in distress trope, she outsmarted the officials, pawned her hairpin and promised to take care of him until he's healed even if he's a complete stranger!!! OUR BEST GIRL!!! SHE DID THAT FOR HIM!! because who could say no to those brown soulful eyes?? Not Changyu that's for sure.
