"Uh, hey! Poke!" Daffy called out into the home, her head just barely poking through the doorway.
There was no response.
"Poke? Are you home?" There was no response after several attempts at ringing the doorbell, but when she attempted to turn the doorknob, it had been left unlocked.
She hesitated for a moment, then stepped inside, carefully closing the door behind her and then, with lips pursed, she began making her way through the house. As she came upon Poke's room, she saw that the door to his room had been left open.
"Poke?" Daffy called again, peeking inside the room.
"Daaaaaaffy! Hi!" Poke's attention snapped from the game he'd been playing to the girl standing in his doorway, "What's up?"
Daffy smiled and quickly shuffled across the room, plopping herself down next to him. "Not much. I was lonely. Wanted to see you."
Poke laughed, "You haven't been around much lately, and suddenly you appear without warning. Pretty shady if you ask me."
"Yeah, I know, I had some stuff to sort out. I thought I'd surprise you." Daffy bit down on the pinkie nail of her right hand, an unconscious and annoying habit the appeared when she became nervous, "It's ok that I'm here though, right?"
"Of course, you're welcome any time" Poke replied, grinning.
Daffy pursed her lips again, debating whether she could actually go through with her plan.
Without giving herself any more time to think, Daffy pushed the controller out of Poke's hands, and shifted herself so that she was now sitting on Poke's lap, facing him. "You like to play video games with me? Right? Even though I'm not all that good?"
"Of course." Poke replied, quirking an eyebrow.
"And you never get mad when I barge into your house unannounced and start eating your food or borrowing your music, right?" She continued.
"That's right." He responded.
""Poke, you like me, right?"
"Yes. Absolutely. What's this all about?"
Daffy reached forward then, wrapping her arm around his neck and bringing her face close to his, "So, I can come and go as I please, take what I want, ruin all your progress on your video games, and you still like being around me?"
"I just told you, yes."
"Poke, I know I can be annoying sometimes, and I come over when it's inconvenient, and I take all your favorite snacks and forget to give back your CDs and always ruin your progress on your games, but I don't mean to. Honest, I don't. I just like being around you, being with you. It makes me happy. And you don't seem to mind. So I know I'm really dumb and I'm not pretty and I eat a lot, and I can't do anything right, but...is it ok... for me to fall in love with you?"
