since fennelmoth and her kits don't have any blessings, one of her kits is born without patches of fur in parts of their body
seeing this kit reminds wildburn of their bio mother pollenpatch, and thus, he names the kit patchkit

Fennel and Bubbling (and their siblings) weren’t because at the time their family in StarClan didn’t know about blessing kits (and possibly not even about Dark Kits at all). By the time the grandkits come around, they do know about it and send blessings just to be safe
That being said, since their mama is an unblessed Dark Kit who had a difficult pregnancy, it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that there’s some lingering affects that come out in them—but being blessed definitely helps prevent things from being lethal. Instead the things they are left with are more just…little things (like patchy fur!)
