I've been to the south of France almost every second year since i was a kid, so i know the area pretty damn well. And sure, you're right, there are lots of POC there, but nowhere NEAR as much as the white populace. Also - how can you say Gordes is largely POC? i don't remember ever seeing a local who wasn't white. fact is,- the artwork is beautiful. and has a good, realistic ratio that honestly reflects the way France is.
France is a European nation, so that’s not really a surprise, and Gordes wasn't LARGELY PoC, but it did have a number of PoC locals (who were all really nice, too. It was freezing both times I went, so I didn’t see the whole town or anything, just people working and going about necessary business).
I never said her art was bad or wrong? It’s actually pretty good in terms of representation in comparison to a lot of the other art in this fandom. What I was arguing with was the disingenuous description of France as a non-melting-pot country, therefore implying any criticism of primarily white, or all white, casting was unnecessary and wrong. France, in terms of persons of colour and cultural diversity? It was pretty broad from what I saw, especially in the south. That was my point. That’s it.
