having sat on the ponies finale for a bit i do have one particular thought that has stuck with me

(spoilers for the s1 finale)

i get that they were panicking when bea’s cover was blown at the concert but why didnt they just…go to the embassy after collecting sasha. like they werent being directly tailed and were able to stop at the barber shop. like they didnt even TRY going to the embassy. like yes it might be the Obvious place for them to go but what is andrei gonna do?? storm the fucking us embassy?? like sure the kgb has a mole in the cia but wouldnt it at least give them a LITTLE time to regroup? to contact dane or ray and make an actual Plan??

thoughts on cheryl and twila

YES HI HELLO

okay i know this is most likely about shipping but im absolutely gonna ramble bc no one in my circle has watched yet (friends this is going to include spoilers for ponies and i will tag it as such but if you are someone i've been bullying about it scroll on please there are fun spoilers here and its better to go in idk fresh)

SO cheryl. more of a control freak than bea, just as miserable as twila re: the lack of autonomy in her life what with the husbands dragging them from post to post and basically shrugging, saying figure it out i have Important Man Work to do. where twila steps back and refuses to participate, living the best she can on her own terms, cheryl's tact is trying to force her bubble into living by her terms. 3 guesses on which is far more exhausting and setting yourself up for failure!!

while there's annoyance going in both directions, there is very real resentment on cheryl's side cause idk that she ever really considered colouring outside the lines like twila does--even with her....~questionable allegiances it feels like there's structure and rules to what she does (i am hurt and feel powerless -> i will hurt my husband/the people responsible for my life being this way and take back some autonomy) and cheryl being cheryl, i don't think she likes that there are possibly other options!!! there are rules and order and she controls the whole floor

but oop!! she can't control twila 🥰 and even worse, i don't think she understands her which is bad for every single one of her goals

so resentment + need for control + jealousy of the scraps of freedom the weird girl scraped out for herself = twila "ive only eaten pussy once but i think i was pretty good at it" hasbeck going down on cheryl until she comes at least 8 times and idk, chills the fuck out for the first time in her life

fr though im really excited for s2 (knock on wood) and seeing their dynamic now that WE know more (but neither side seem to have any idea??? and...it doesn't seem like andrei does either....but more thoughts to come on that front on another post...)

like cheryl canonically does martial arts (though now im thinking it was possibly just training and/or affair time but STILL she's trained imo because of vic michaelis' actual background) and twila accidentally knocked an old woman over a railing. they are not the same!!! cheryl WILL let herself be pinned to the floor (or a wall, perhaps??) on purpose tho, mark my words 👀

all that said, im not married to any ships in ponies yet tbh i really like a lot of the dynamics and im excited to see more esp with cheryl and twila because they're 1) really funny characters together and b) there's a lot there to dig into imo
