PONYBOY.-BRO IS THE NEW WORD FOR FAGGOT
Having been a fan of Charles McVey's excellent solo work for sometime, I was excited for Ponyboy. Steering away from his more intimate solo work while still keeping the razor sharp lyrics, this Lawrence, KS two piece steers into sleazy, grungy, queer noise rock.
Midterms blow.
Not so deep thoughts with The Situation.
A heartbreakingly honest song about falling in love online. I fell in love with this guy when I bought this album on a whim years ago. He's from my home state of Kansas and the town I moved to at the age of 18. This album is full of raw, emotional songs about queer life that balance being melodic and gorgeous with brutal honesty. There's even a love song for Tobias and Chris from the show Oz. His voice is absolutely amazing. On top of it all, he's currently in a noisy, fucked up, great queer noise-punk band called Ponyboy. Do yourself a favor and check this album, Modern Living out, as well as Ponyboy cuz there is some wicked fucking talent going on here.
