Yeah, I mean Dad figured it out. He was actually a little upset that Newt seemed to be going down the 'bad stupid scientist' path there in the middle, because he knows I love scientists. He also didn't get attached to Hermann like at all because he was seriously zoned out during their big introductory scene, so he mostly got them at the Drift scene.

He's always going to be a little more attracted to the military boys, but he was immediately skeptical of Stacker (and the political brass), although obviously he realized Stacker was Not Evil once he was standing up to the UN assholes. I could meta about my dad all day, but I think he got into it, he just doesn't 'fanboy' much.
