Today I was skating with my good buddy Tsz, and some students at the uni started chatting to us and told us they were from Fujian...

They asked Tsz where he was from (they weren't being racist they heard him speaking canto on the phone to his ma) and he said Hong Kong, they didn't like that.

He was super polite and we were just trying to skate, but they kept trying to ask him questions about Hong Kong, and I could tell he felt really uncomfortable because they weren't friendly curious questions they were "I am testing you" questions.

One of them also seemed very interested in him in terms of him being shirtless and sweaty but also in terms of making sure he agreed with her on "Hong Kong's place." (She literally said that in the end.)

The other one was literally acting like he was a traitorous spy and she was the CCP military police.

We were just trying to skate and chill.

It got more and more uncomfortable until we quite literally had to run away because they were getting physically aggressive.

(Tsz put his shirt back on because the staring was a little much, and they literally kept lifting it back up again while talking to him????)

I have no idea why I am writing this down other than it really pissed me off, not least because that is literal sexual harassment surely, but also because they were essentially bullying him at the same time about where he's from?

Trying to claim him and force him to accept their world view. It was really uncomfortable.

We went to Tsujiri for something to cool down with and I have never heard the usually so gentle and composed Tsz let off such a string of expletives in my life.

Most of them were in Cantonese so I didn't understand much at all but I could FEEL them.

What I did get were the English parts and i will never stop laughing at

"Eastern Tibetan... ... ... West Taiwanese... ... ... South Mongolian... ... ... Cheeky... ... ... Fockin' betches."
