i’m just happy that some of the things i said were actually correct! now! onto more theorization of ranboo’s new allegiance and just general discussion because i still have to watch tubbo’s vod

so.

ranboo’s with techno and philza now.

not gonna lie, this is the outcome i wanted the most, despite how much i loved ranboo and tubbo’s friendship in rp.

to start us off, ranboo seems a lot happier already, and i’m going to attribute this to the lack of control dream has over these specific two members of the smp. like, let’s be real, there’s no fucking way phil or techno would ever bow to dream. the closest they’ll ever get is a partnership based on mutual agreement, which is what happened today!

now, what happened with ranboo?

why is he so panicked and confused, why is he so scared and fearful of what will happen to him, why does he not understand what he’s done, or could have done?

ranboo was manipulated and hurt, plain and simple, but he wasn’t manipulated by anyone in specific.

he was manipulated by himself.

when the voice of dream said he wasn’t real, that was true. dream i believe is essentially the embodiment of everything ranboo believes is bad, so it manifested in that voice, manifested in his anxiety and fear, manifested in his mind and hurt him because to him? he was bad. there was no explanation for what happened with the community house except for that he was the one who did it. he couldn’t trust himself, he couldn’t trust his memories, so he must’ve done it.

his new allegiance with techno and philza (we all know it’s primarily with phil) i think will be good for him. watching the interactions that ranboo had with the people of l’manburg honestly disappointed me.

tubbo treated him as a friend, but constantly made fun of him and generally ignored his input when others decided to speak

tommy (with techno, but techno pulled tommy back a bit so idk if his involvement is nearly as bad) stressed ranboo out, and interrogated both ranboo and fundy for information without caring for their mental states

quackity wanted ranboo dead ever since he found out about the book, but just in general their interactions seemed very stiff and fake in the beginning. it also doesn’t help that quackity has been different ever since schlatt had died

the side argument that ranboo brings up is true, but it’s also not. sides exist no matter what, because the people are those sides. there will always be sides because there will always be differing opinions. and no matter what, some people with those differing opinions will clash. sides cause a lot of hurt, but there’s nothing else to do but choose.

like fake voice dream said, by not choosing a side, ranboo unintentionally did. the side of neutrality, and the side that abandoned his friends.

ranboo taking this step to choose what he wants rather than what he thought needed to happen is such an important moment. choosing philza is probably ranboo’s best bet right now because he’s going to treat him the kindest out of everyone in ranboo’s options.

tubbo doesn’t trust him

tommy doesn’t trust him

fundy wants him to join his side

quackity wants him to use the sides, and in turn, use him

we don’t know phil’s motivations, but we do know that out of the pure goodness of his heart, he saved ranboo from lava and a canon (maybe) death.

ranboo’s best shot and choice right now is phil because phil pulled him out of that shit state of mind, pulled him away from his panic and fear and offered him a place to go, something that while others offered, also wished for him to fight and use him. phil, at this point in time, doesn’t want to force ranboo to do anything, and that’s the difference between ranboo picking phil, and ranboo picking either fundy or quackity.

ranboo doesn’t have anyone else.

phil is the light at the end of the tunnel, and ranboo choosing to follow it is his first step to the peace he’s been longing for since the beginning.

he’s not being forced to do things, not being dragged into situations that he had no part in, not being hurt and abused by the ideologies that are supposed to be good for him.

with phil?

Ya know, the fact that Ranboo wanted and planned with the others to have Ran have a lot lore but we missed out on it because Techno got excited doesn’t surprise me!

It sounds like a very Techno thing to do and it will forever fucking kills me every time I think about it XD
