Confusion didn't feel apt enough of description to what she felt when Loki had wandered himself into her New Years festivities. Which had, admittedly, not been much at all. Maybe a beer and some stupid glasses and a documentary about something or other.
She didn't care much to spend New Years in a lonely dive in the middle of nowhere in the Upstate. So this, it was. Still lonely, admittedly, but at least no one would try to pester her for a kiss the moment the clock began to tick down.
But then he had arrived and that had thrown a wrench into that plan.
And here they were, in the final few moments of the year. Her body tensing for a few moments as the last few seconds began to count down, before she gestured for him to bend down and gave him a kiss after whispering the words that marked the event.
