Will stood in his doorway, staring at the man sprawled out on his bed. He was so handsome, even in a dead sleep and drooling all over his pillow. Will knew he probably shouldn’t find the sight so endearing; or at the very least be a little annoyed Ben didn’t warn him that the man was crashing at their place. But he really couldn’t find it in him.

A/N: Written for the first fan event in the Triple Frontier Fan's community here on tumblr! We spun a wheel of different character combos, I got Ben Tom Santi and Will! Now, ya'll know my feelings on Tom, and i've written him having a very different reaction to Ben and Frankie in Boys of Summer, so I thought, why not subvert that? try something new?
500 words. I mean to write more but I have a lot going on rn, hopfully the next event I'll be able to write more, but tbh this flowed so well for me I think its cute.

“I’m gonna fucking throw up.” Santi declared abruptly on the drive over to their favorite hole-in-the-wall bar.
Ben, ever the easy-going one acting as a foil to Santi’s anxiety, shrugs. “I mean. We already got through the hard part.”
“Telling Will was the hard part for YOU.”
Frankie had a hand in putting Ben and Santi together, encouraging both of them to pursue the feelings he thought were obvious. For the last 3 months the pair were hooking up, and a month and a half ago they admitted their feelings were more than sexual and got together. Frankie knew immediately, but it took a while before they were really ready to be ‘out’.
No one was exactly sure how Tom was going to react to this, which is why Will was sitting at the bar waiting for them at their usual spot. He was there to act as a buffer. At worst, Tom had been know to throw around some not great language, but if the guys were being honest, they all had. Being in the military in the 2000’s, none of them could say they’d never said a slur, and just like the rest of them Tom had mellowed out in his old age. Old age meaning 40’s but still.
Will gave his baby brother a reassuring pat on the back. “It’s gonna be fine, you two.”
“That’s what I’m trying to tell him!” Ben gestures to where his new boyfriend is chewing on a cuticle.
“Well, he has an undiagnosed anxiety disorder.”
Santi shot him a look. “And you have undiagnosed Obsessive compulsive disorder, fuck off.”
Ben put a hand on both men’s shoulders. “And I have diagnosed ADHD, and you all should be on meds. Now shut up, here he comes.”
Tom clocked them as suspicious immediately. “Okay. What’s going on. My birthdays not for another month, so I swear to god if Fish comes around that corner with a cake I’m gonna.”
“Benny and I are having sex!” Santi tore himself away from eating his skin just long enough to shout it a bit too loud, not even looking at anyone, just wide-eyed staring off into space.
There was a long, pregnant pause, Will’s eyes on Tom and Ben’s on Santi with a dropped jaw. He muttered a little ‘oh for fucks sake…’ in his southern drawl, but that dopey smile was on his face. He loved that anxious idiot. He took Santi’s chewed up hand. “We’re together, actually. Not just having sex”
“I’m gonna throw up.”
Tom looked back and forth between the three men, then shrugged. “Yeah? And? I thought we knew this already.” He looked to Will. “Are you just finding this out now?”
Will blinked. “I- they told me yesterday.”
“But you knew beforehand, right? They weren’t sneaky.” Tom starts laughing. “You didn’t know! Ha!” Waving his finger before a wide-eyed Santi and confused Benny, he informs them he’s known for months. “Actually, I’ve suspected you were into each other for a few years now, but hey, none of my business. Glad you guys are happy and can stop sneaking around. Sneaking around badly, but still.”
Finally, Santi let out a big sigh, a breath he’d been holding for month. “Thank FUCK. This was so much easier than telling my mom.”

In my fics santi always has anxiety. In LaL it's very much understated compared to Laci's severe anxiety disorder, but it's there. In IYWBW it's pretty obvious. In ROF it manifests in anxious attachment.

In every life time, they're warriors of some kind, fighting for some cause that’s bigger than all of them. In every lifetime, they find each other. Things sometimes changed, it was bound to happen from time to time. This cycle, Tom had found Molly, before he reunited with them. Frankie had found someone too. Will had tried, he really had…
But in the end, it didn't matter what changed or how much; they all had each other and always would.

my latest entry for the @yearoftheotpevent, february's prompt chosen was 'it made me think of you'. all of these are from the pov of the respective gift receiver each.
St. Augustine has a famous quote that says that God is closer to me than I am to myself (cf. Confessions, III, 6, 11). From here he formulates the invitation: "Do not go outside yourself, come back into yourself: truth dwells in the heart of man" (True Religion, 39, 72). This is another aspect that we risk losing in the noisy and distracted world in which we live: the ability to stop and take a deep look within ourselves and read that thirst for the infinite that we carry within, pushing us to go further and towards that Someone who can satisfy it. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "with his openness to truth and beauty, his sense of moral goodness, his freedom and the voice of his conscience, with his longings for the infinite and for happiness, man questions himself about God's existence" (n. 33).
