It’s no secret that I adore Robert Altman’s 1980 film musical masterpiece “Popeye”. There wasn’t much merchandise for the actual movie back in the day aside from a few items (there was a ton of Popeye stuff released but most was based on the comics and cartoons). This is one exception, a Colorforms set. The art on this is gorgeous (look at that background painting) and I’m fascinated with the blend of styles here, mixing realistic likenesses of Robin Williams, Shelley Duvall and company with the cartoony style of the comics.
