Portal is the name of the fascinating fusion of a sconce and a floor lamp.
The name comes from the illusion of mirrors being a portal into a different world.
Lake and Wells created this special lamp with the help of the lighting specialists of Karice. The design results in an aluminum body, that is machined from a single block and anodized before being assembled withe the hand-polished brass mirror.
The most important part is the picture, but diary-like log - under the cut if you're interested
I'm not dead, I swear. But the pace of my university and work is moving me closer to that condition every day!
Which is why I've just procrastinated studying for tomorrow physics lab for two hours straight. My professor will kill me, but I've made a pretty picture on my new tablet and that is everything that matters. By the way, this picture is mostly for y'all! It's the one attached. I hope you like it. I certainly do, at least for now.
"But, - you may ask me, - dear Worm! Did you do ANYTHING besides drawing pretty pictures? Are you any closer to being a real engineer?"
Fair question! And actually, I did! It's not much - but it'a a fair work. I've learnt basics - how to make Arduino react on buttons pressing, how to make it light up different diodes; all this stuff. And I'm halfway through a beginners course, after which I can start learning libraries I need for this project. So yeah, I've been busy.
I think I'll write a new post after finishing the course :)
