Ali Kay has been running her own decorative painting company, Positive Space, since shortly after graduating high school in Wisconsin, relocating to Houston, Texas after college and relaunching a new Positive Space studio in Chattanooga in 2013. While in Texas six of Kay’s murals received awards from the local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers and in Tennessee she’s already made a name for herself in the cities vibrant art scene while continuing to serve clients in Houston and across the country. Painted a year after making the move to Chattanooga Kay’s mural for the Kevin Bate <@goodwithfaces> produced McCallie Walls Project is perhaps her most visible project to date. Kay told @TimesFreePress she wanted to create something that would make people smile and feel good, and this charming would-be aviator in the 1400 block of McCallie Avenue is sure to do the job.
