I'm 140 pages into this book for a romance bookclub, and the MC has had all of three (3) pages of interaction with the LI
the LI did not even show up until page 60
and those 3 pages amounted to surface-level workplace conversations
I Have Some Structural Notes.
#plus the MC going on about how the LI is such a bitch and she hates her because she's gorgeous and therefore shallow whiiiich.#if this romance is only allotted 3% of the first 100 pages you should probably... give that 3% a little substance#one of those moments where you need to take the author by the hand#and tell them they started the book a full 5 chapters too early#possibly more!#I don't need a chapter where the MC waits for an email (that doesn't arrive) and then does grounding exercises with her therapist#that should be a single paragraph not an entire chapter#anyway someone marketed this book as something it REALLY ISN'T
