HEADCANON VANESSA IVES HER SOULS.
Once Amunet/Lilith was forced to live in a human body (not entirely sure about the reason), the women she inhabited were born with two souls. At one time she was an Egyptian princess, she lived among the Vikings, has been a queen of a tribe in the rainforest, none of them, however, were powerful enough to sustain her long. That is until she was born again in the body and next to the soul of Vanessa Ives. Vanessa Ives a strong, stubborn soul, with powers of her own, born with darkness in her own soul. Amunet fights and fights to get out but Vanessa has a strong hold on her, only when Vanessa acts on her dark desires, does something that is against her Catholic believes, against what society thinks is proper for women living in her time Vanessa’s hold gets less and she can get out for a bit. What ensues after is a war between souls, always at war with each other, trying to be the dominant soul inside her body.
Season 1 was mostly Vanessa battling against herself, the two souls in her body. In Season 2 she made peace with the fact that it’s inside of her and she ain’t gonna get rid of it, in fact, it makes her different, special and she likes this feeling. Season 3 is Vanessa embracing the goddess and the souls working together (she lost her belief in god by then, so she is free from the boundaries religion put onto her and the shame she felt for it).
Maybe I should put this in a separate post, but Season 3′s last episode didn’t happen. As she was being turned by Dracula she says that she accepts herself. Meaning that she finally truly accepts who and what she is, all of her. Not just the one soul, but both. She accepts the darkness, the urges inside of her and won’t fight it anymore, in fact, she will embrace it. She has fought for long enough and this decision is incredibly selfish, but she is tired of fighting, tired of not being able to be herself, her true self.
What happened in my canon is that after Dracula turned her she accepts the title of mother of evil, the soul of the goddess and her own merge, the apocalypse starts and a new earth will emerge. One where the night creatures are the one in control, with Vanessa as their Queen and Dracula as their King. At first, she is confused, finds it difficult to accept it, but at the same time, she has never felt freer than she does now.
