Binomial species name - Wanday majikay
s. system - hermaphroditic (a.k.a. individual is both male and female, AHAB)
typical life span - 200 years, (Rayman and Raymesis are blessed(or cursed depending on who you asked) with having unlimited lifespan)
height: 140-180 cm (in rare cases 200-210 cm)
they aren't as abundant as fairies and many don't know that there other thingamajigs other than Rayman, or that Rayman is a thingamajig and not some weird looking magic-less fairy. Nonetheless there are communities of thingamajigs that live separately from fairies. There are also some thingamajigs who chose to live along the fairies for whatever reason(they want to make it big, got excluded from their community and etc...). Speaking of "thingamajig varieties" it isn't so on show like in fairies (they aren't samey looking tho...), all W. majikay call other W. majikay a thingamajig and everyone consider themselves to be 100% thingamajig.
They are creation of Polokus and other great deity, no one in the glade knows who was it. They are famous for having no limbs unlike any other creature in The Glade. Unlike fairies, they rely on their physical strength, they are stronk guys, they cannot do magic by themselves, BUT, they can do potion-brewing, there a lot of thingamajigs who make magical potions for money.
When a thingamajig is born, they are in a weird "cocoon" thing from which they free themselves, sometimes with help of a parent, but usually by themselves, after that they left with "navel" sorta mark on their belly. Thingamajigs technically give live-birth. In thingamajig communities, they don't assign any genders to a baby(bc they all hermas duh), the baby majig is free to chose how they want to be refer to by themselves, because of that there are child-names given by parents, when kid is 10 years old they get normal name.
A baby thingamajig is called: kit, kitten, baby.
Since they aren't creation of Fée, they can't be in any way be a real nymph. BUT, they can be their own analog of nymph, a megamajig. After doing something really extraordinary, they get the blessing to be able to turn into megarmajig, they get to be a lot more stronger and more invincible than they ever were, and even able to fly in that form. How megamajig form looks like varies in each thingamajig, some are monstrous 8 metre tall thingamajigs, other are 2 metre angelic looking thingamajigs.
A lot of great thingamajigs (other than Rayman) are usually doctors, biologists/botanists, guardians of some place(most of which are either dead or gone completely insane), musicians/singers, dancers and artists.
The first thingamajig was made 800 years ago,(author note: i haven't decided on it's name), it loved everything living around it, it wanted to protect the planet it lives on, so it became a folk doctor and a veterinarian, it studied all living beings to help them, it give it big infatuation with biology of things, it wanted to know it better like no one else. After 50 years after it's creation, Polokus decided to make some more thingamajigs, the first thingamajig decided to make a family with one of them. Some people believe that Rayman(who was born 123 years ago) is descendant of the first thingamajig, but he isn't. No one is sure where Rayman came from, neither he himself knows exactly where he came from.
Thingamajigs have dewlap, something of a natural "neck"-pillow made out of fat and fur, all thingamajig have different dewlaps, some have very small fluff bun(like Raynette), some have a whole cozy fluffy pillow(like Shai the doctor and psychologist thingamajig). No one is exactly sure what it's for, thingamajigs prefer thingamajigs with bigger dewlaps.
They have very keen sense of smell, it is very helpful for them.
They can parry using their hair.
They have omnivorous diet, mostly sticking with fruits. They can eat nothing and drink nothing for 3 glade months which is impressive.
