She tries to readjust the coat so it actually stayed on her shoulders. “Bad idea. That was a terrible idea!”

“That's an understatement. Buggy code is unstable code. You were lucky to make it out of there in one piece,” Alan chided. He sighed. “You know we talked about this. You weren't going to be doing anymore harebrained heroics, and certainly not by yourself.” 

Though I had my suspicions you wouldn't listen, or at the very least, that trouble would somehow find you... It always does.

"Did you think, in your heart of hearts, that pager was ever gonna go off?"

“Yes.Yes I did,” Alan leans back in his chair and sighs. “There weretimes I had my doubts. But- I had to hold on. You know, some said Icouldn’t afford to hold on to hope, but me? I couldn’t afford not to.If there was even a chance, any one at all, that my friend was stillalive, still out there, somewhereand needed me, and I wasn’t available because I’d simply given up..?I could never forgive myself. I couldn’t live with that guilt. Andreally, could anyone?”

With her hair rolled up in twin buns. "May the fourth be with you."

Alanchuckled, it was always nice to see the younger crowd getting into“geeky” things. He remembered when it wasn’t “cool” to enjoyscience fiction, or even computers for that matter. Things hadcertainly come a long way since then.

“Thankyou,” he smiled, “same to you.”
