The air was chilly but bright and sparkling with sunshine when a train of jeeps and trucks lumbered through the main entrance of the Johto camp. It might have been a supply shipment, except for the fact that when the back doors of the trucks were swung open men began to unload instruments and show equipment instead of rations and boots.
The camp was in for a treat, it seemed. Or at least that’s what the men unloading the trucks remarked with passing winks at any curious onlookers.
Muddy, untied shoes kicked at the seat in front of them in a car toward the middle of the odd little caravan.
“Can’t I get out yet, mum?” piped their owner. The shoes were quickly halted by a slim hand that reached back from the front seat to catch them. Lillian Grey shook her head as she watched the men work, taking a moment to adjust the pins in her hair.
“No love, we must wait until an officer tells us where our quarters are.”
Donovan pouted and fiddled with the ears of the Growlithe sleeping on the seat next to him. He was sure he’d caught a glimpse of a few planes in the distance when they had driven into the camp. “But it’s stuffy in here. An’ Scout needs walking.”
“Be patient, Donnie. It’ll only take a little.”
Sighing, the little boy flopped back in his seat and craned his neck to peer up out of the windows again. He was sure he saw planes now.
And where there were planes, there was the unspoken hope that his da might not be very far away, either.
((Aaaand finally, Lillian and Donnie are in the Johto camp for a little while. Which means they're open to RPs and things for the next few days~ /ouo/
This is post-R4, and keep in mind that only very, very few people would know that Lillian is Rory's ex-wife (likely only some of the officers), and nobody would know who Donnie is until they see Rory interacting with him or hear the boy chatter on about his da the pilot. xD Rory's basically going to be avoiding Lillian when he can.))
