Input III from my Creative Writing Class “Struggle of Space, Struggle for Identity: The Civil Rights Movement in an Anti-Colonial Context”.
What did they talk about, there, at the table? We did a writing exercise to try to grasp the wording, the topics, and the importance of the March on Washington.

We also read and discussed Baldwin’s “The Fire Next Time”, and watched “I am not your N*” together. It was an intense class and the writing output was so fruitful. The students wrote letters, diary entries and created collaborative short stories inspired by the movie “If Beale Street Could Talk”. We shared all creative output in reading sessions in the classroom. Listening to all the material was amazing.
