Nothing good.
Nothing good ever happens at 3 AM. I’m awake. Mostly because I drank. I absolutely hate this part. The moment you wake up, knowing immediately that 1) You won’t be asleep again for a while. 2) It’s because you were very drunk recently.
It’s a bizarre combination. Shame and thankfulness. Shame because it’s almost as if I completely recall how I was when while drinking. Not that I blacked out, because I didn’t.
It’s as if my brain resets itself, and looks at its past thoughts as if it was years ago, and not hours.
Thankfulness because it’s over. Stone cold sober. The purest mindset. Before tomorrow’s coffee and before tomorrow’s inevitable drink. Thankful that I’m alive and also that I don’t get hangovers.
This is the time of night for false promises. I’ll never drink again. Or at least cut back. I’ll solely keep a clear mind, and shift my focus to something more productive.
False Promises.
