Squat High or Squat Low. Just Squat!
Do you want a cheap form of exercise that is easy and can be performed at home and shapes your entire body.
Try squatting!
You wanna take it to the next level?
Do squats while pressing something over your head.
If you do 3 sets of 20 repetitions, 3 times/day I bet you would see some great results.
With a few simple cues such as "stay on your heals," "sit back," and "keep your lower back arched,"squats are great no matter how you do them.
Some people argue you have to go all the way down, while others argue that it's not necessary and maybe even dangerous.
Who is correct?
This question is only important when you begin using heavy weights or trying to develop your legs. If you are training for the end of the world and you want to squat low, you better check your form before you wreck yourself!
If you are simply squatting for fitness or to make it easier to get in and out of a chair, then squat to the chair. Try improving your range, but don't worry about getting all the way down.
Some people have years of bad posture, tight hips, sitting, scar tissue and injuries. So much that it would be unreasonable to argue that they have to squat all the way down.
Know your strengths, your limits and your goals, and work within them.
Good Luck!
