The Rose Parade occurs on the 1st day of the New Year, unless it lands on a Sunday. After watching it on TV, my family and I usually go down to Sierra Madre to check out the floats. I believe the best time is at the end like around 3 pm... since it closes at 5 pm. It takes about 2 hours to see everything but usually ppl trickle out and isn't as crowded. Too bad the floats aren't there longer!
