As I’m writing this, I am six days post Whole30.
Aside from the usual cat photo, we finished the damn thing and it felt pretty dang good. I wasn’t going to put any before or after photos on le tumblr, but the results were pretty ham so I decided it had to be done. You’ll notice that I basically leaned out, but also lost a TON of bloat. The kicker was when all was said and done, I only lost about 4 pounds. #seriously
(disclaimer: I didn’t want to lose weight, but with a wedding coming up it’s not a horrible thing to tone up which is what I wanted to do.)
Eating this way about 75-85% of the time is probably best for me. As I said before, we’re six-days post Whole30, and my bloat has come back a bit and the discomfort at the end of the day in my stomach is slowly returning. It’s like I forgot what I had been missing the last 10+ years of my life and it finally did and it’s not fun.
As you can see, we ate ramen, shot oysters, and drank margaritas (only lime, no sugar) post Whole30, and this doesn’t even show an undocumented slice of pizza that had a shaving of parmesan cheese or the Chinese food we got when we got home from New York City. It was oh so good, but dang, SOMETHING I ate probably doesn’t like it. I’m guessing it’s soy, but we didn’t exactly follow the re-introduction period because I thought it was for the birds and let’s be honest, #nycpizzaandalcoholanddanceparties I also think being allergic to gluten is not a real thing (unless you have Celiacs disease), and I love bread, so there’s that.
So, I’m here to say, I’ll probably cut out a few things from my diet and see how that goes because it really sucks to feel bloated and gross for half the day.
Tips to survive your first whole30: what to expect, how to prepare, and
I probably need to start buckling down on wedding planning and getting more serious about graduate school but who needs time to do stuff like that when you can just write about it? Hopefully, this will turn into a lifestyle, food, cat related thing if you’re into reading about me ;) but we’ll see what happens.
