Devo Are U X-Perienced? b/w Growing Pains 1984 Warner Brothers —————————————————
* Long Live Rock Archive
This is still my favorite thing I've done.
This self-proclaimed –pot punk— band’s debut Home. Run. is a solid slab of indie fuzz pop that is unsophisticated in the best possible way, and eminently listenable to boot.
thanks to Big Takeover Magazine for the v nice review and the comparison to Jeff Magnum and The Replacements!
Why has no one started calling stoner pop punk kids pot punks?
okay so there's been a little interest expressed in my guitar demolishings, so i figured what with a new jam room sorted out and all, i might as well chuck a video. So i'm unshaven and a bit out of practice, and this was the first time i played in the room properly so i haven't got used to the acoustics, blah blah blah, but this is a song that i wrote, all me by my ownsome, every chord and syllable. It's about the poster that hung in the shed of the house i shared with my brothers. feedback me! if you actually watch it, say some words, very please! if there is a positive response i might be able to stir myself to further noise efforts, even.
you thought perth was boring so you moved to melbourne, but it's not perth that's boring it's you who's boring; so now you're just the same boring asshole but you're in meeeeelbourne!
first filmclip ever from my Dudes, Grim Fandango Been seeing these guys since i first started going out in Perth and watched them go from That Band Who Always Supports Everyone to one of the legit most badass propositions in the whole damn country. I'm hugely proud and you should be too, and you should come hang out on the weekend and remind Burgs he owes us a joint or two. or at least check out their new record and support some authentic dudes Doing Punk Right. In defense of the genre!
